![]() Thanks for reading and leave clean comments below. Jillian is set a daily journal-writing task by her teacher, Mrs Bright, which becomes a hilarious journey of self. My parents think Im a Problem Child and my teacher thinks Im a Brainless Show-off. I like this movie and I bet you will enjoy some of it too. The guys dont want to play with me anymore. Its got enough for both genders to enjoy from and is one of the better live-action Disney family films from the 2000s decade. "The Princess Diaries" is a great family/teen comedy. Girl likes jock, stuck-up blonde cheerleader, invisible, socially awkward protagonist. It had a good script but I think the main issue is that the film is cliched. I don't watch "Grey's Anatomy" but I seem to be entertained by Sandra Oh when I see her in any film. Of the supporting minor cast, I enjoyed Sandra Oh as the vice principal. Eric Von Detten is the arrogant jock Mia has a crush on. The 10 officers who were killed in retaliation were close friends of her father, who that. Oh, she was funny but her acting skills: meh, okay. In July 1971, an unsuccessful coup was staged against King Hassan during his birthday party at the palace. Mandy Moore played the snotty, popular cheerleader. ![]() The supporting cast includes Mandy Moore, Eric Von Detten, and Sandra Oh. I would like to hang out, or even make a movie, with him. I love Julie Andrews and she plays the kind, witty woman we all came to know and love in films such as "The Sound of Music" and "Mary Poppins". Anne Hathaway is a great actress in her role of Mia and plays a charming, clumsy princess. I thought "The Princess Diaries" was a sweet, funny movie. She gets a makeover, learns royal manners (which she fails to learn, very funny!), and gets what every celerity hates: unwanted media attention. When Mia's rich, royal grandmother comes to visit, Mia discovers that she has royal blood and is the princess of a made-up foreign country known as Genovia. This is the film that made Oscar-nominee, future Catwoman, Anne Hathaway a star.Īnne plays a shy, lonely teenage girl named Mia Thermopolis. In honor of the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton taking place today, I shall review "The Princess Diaries". The best thing of all was getting up every day and trying to crawl into people’s heads-from a Pilgrim girl to a Princess.Once in a while, I enjoy a good, cliched teen comedy. I could delve into a character like Elizabeth Tudor and try and imagine how she would feel when her father often banished her from the court to live in a lonely castle with her governess. I would not give happily ever after endings when they did not really happen but I could interpret how that person might feel. Kokachins diary describes her long, dangerous sea voyage beset by storms, disease and pirate attacks. And there was the added bonus since it was to be fiction I could fill in the gaps that history books and primary source material might leave out. Based on Marco Polos 13th century journals, this illustrated book tells the story of Princess Kokachins journey with Marco Polo to become the Khan of Persias new wife. These books were based on people who had really lived-Princesses like Elizabeth Tudor, Marie Antoinette, Mary Queen of Scots, but they kept fictional diaries.įor me both these series were the chance of a lifetime as a writer for it combined two things I love-history and doing research. The Royal Diaries were slightly different from the Dear America ones. What was life like on the Mayflower? Did she find a best friend? What were the storms like? Did she throw up? Was she frightened? How did she feel in this new land? She is the Crown Princess and later Queen of. So I could try and imagine how a little pilgrim girl felt when she left to cross the Atlantic Ocean to come to America. Mia Thermopolis is the protagonist of Disneys 2001 feature film, The Princess Diaries, and its 2004 sequel. In the Dear America series the diaries were based on fictional people who lived through significant events in American history. When my publisher came up with the idea for the Dear America and the Royal Diaries I was thrilled.

Moran, who has relentlessly pursued new ideas for the last 20 years, knows a thing or two about the future. “We are still not there yet,” says Dov Moran, the man who invented flash drive around 21 years ago, “but in three to five years, we will start seeing devices which can act as the hub, connecting dots in our digital lives.” In a world, where tablets can make calls, phones can play high-definition videos and cameras can use GPS to tag your pictures, it’s an idea rooted in new technologies that are taking shape around us. Of course, this device also makes calls and acts as a smartphone when you are on the go. It’s a music player when plugged into a hi-fi music system at home, it’s a camera when put into a body of DSLR, it’s a television when connected to a big 42’ flat LCD screen, it’s a GPS tracker when pushed into the navigation system of a car and it’s a personal computer when docked into a physical keyboard. The world is full of docks and at the centre sits a tiny gadget around which our lives revolve. Though, for now, the Modu phones are not exactly what I have in mind for the future, I realized there are some similarities they share with my vision. And as far I see it, they are going to make more and more gadgets obsolete in the future.įast forward a few weeks and I came to know about Modu, a company that makes Modular phones, and met its CEO. My view is that smartphones, nowadays, can perform many tasks which were until now in the domain of laptops. “If you have no problem spending Rs 35,000 on a laptop, you should not have any issues with buying a high-end smartphone,” I told him. I told him to look at smartphones from a different perspective. ![]() ![]() His reasoning is that cellphones are for making calls, television is for watching films, cameras are for snapping pictures and computers are for surfing the web. ![]() “I will never spend Rs 28,000 on a cellphone,” he said, taunting me for “blowing money on Galaxy S”. A few weeks ago, when we were talking technology, we had an interesting exhange. But my colleague, Manas Gupta, is not convinced. The reason is they are becoming powerful, they are empowering and they are personal. |
